How to Plan the Best Wedding with Crave

Looks like Congratulations are in order! At Crave, we know wedding planning can be overwhelming at times, but do not worry if you are unsure of where to begin, we have you covered! Keep reading for some tips to keep in mind when planning for your special day.

Decide on a Budget

It is important to have a realistic understanding of how much money you can spend for your wedding. There is so much to consider from table settings to flowers! The number you settle on will affect every decision about how you plan your wedding and the purchases you make, so be sure to work out your budget before you start planning.

Save the Date

While you may already have a date in mind, make sure that you have a few options of dates to choose from. This allows you to be flexible, so you are not constrained when attempting to book the wedding venue and vendors. Take into consideration external factors like how popular those dates might be, or if the dates would be difficult for your guests to attend.

Create the Guest List

Making decisions about the guest list can be tricky! It is important to sit down with your partner to put together a wish list of wedding guests. Depending on your venue and budget, you may need to make some cuts. You will also need to decide whether you are inviting children and who can bring a plus one.

Choose a Theme

Whether it’s specific colours, season, or an actual theme like the Roaring Twenties or Old Hollywood, sometimes it's helpful to choose a concept to design your wedding around. Once you have a theme in mind, it's easier to make décor decisions, and make your special event feel more cohesive.

Location, Location, Location

Time to choose your wedding venue! Be sure to do your research on prices, packages, and any restrictions like minimum budget spend or guest count from your top potential wedding and reception venues before you make a final decision.

Choose your Vendors

It is important not to rush when it comes to booking your wedding vendors. Consider a few different options to make sure you build a team of people that you trust and that are on board with the vision for your special day. Send the Invitations

Start planning to send out your wedding invitations as soon as you know your wedding theme and have confirmed the venue. It is recommended that your Save-the-Date invites go out nine months before the wedding date for a destination wedding and four to six months prior if you are staying local. Invitations should be sent out six to eight weeks before the big day. You should request that RSVPs be returned no later than one month in advance so there are no last-minute changes.
