Crave began in September 2004 with a simple passion: baking from scratch with heart and hustle - right down to cracking every egg by hand. Today, we operate seven retail bakeries across Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Kelowna. In 2021, we expanded into grocery with our Bake at Home cake mix, frozen buttercream, and frozen pre portioned cookie dough.
We’re a proudly women founded and women led company, and we’re looking for an Operations & Supply Chain Manager to work on a one-year contract, who’s excited to help power an established brand as we bring innovative CPG products to retailers nationwide.
Responsibilities:
Scale Production & Distribution
• Build and execute scalable systems for production, fulfillment, and logistics as we grow across DTC and retail.
• Manage production planning and scheduling with co-packers, manufacturing partners and supply chain partners
• Ensure consistent product quality and identify opportunities to optimize costs and efficiency.
Fulfillment & Operations • Oversee day-to-day fulfillment across DTC, wholesale, and retail channels.
• Build and refine operational systems that ensure accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with 3PL partners to streamline order processing, warehousing, and shipping workflows and optimize costs.
Supply Chain & Logistics
• Manage end-to-end supply chain - from ingredient sourcing, warehousing, third-party logistics (3PL) to finished goods logistics.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with co-manufacturers, suppliers, 3PLs, and freight partners.
• Anticipate and resolve bottlenecks to keep things running smoothly and cost-effectively.
Regulatory & FSQA
• Help ensure our products meet food safety and regulatory standards as we scale.
• Ensure compliance across Canada, including labeling and required documentation.
• Keep HACCP documents organized and audit-ready (product specs, allergen statements).
• Assist with audit coordination and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor product quality and flag issues early to protect the brand.
Inventory & Demand Planning • Is familiar with systems such as Wherefour (Inventory Management System), Shopify,
and EDI.
Financial & Operational Reporting
• Support budgeting, cost analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
• Create dashboards and KPIs to monitor operational performance and drive accountability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with marketing and sales on new product launches and demand forecasts.
• Align with the finance team on cash flow, production schedules, and cost optimization.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has 3-6 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics within CPG. We value a can-do attitude over years of technical experience.
• A systems thinker who’s hands-on, proactive, and thrives in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to translate chaos into clarity.
• Comfortable with budgets, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
• Bonus: Experience scaling a beverage or CPG brand from startup to large scale national distribution.
