Don’t Over Mix the Cake Batter

It is important not to over mix your batter. If you over mix, you will be left with a cake or cupcakes that are dense, and chewy. When it comes to baking, we are looking for light, airy, and fluffy!

Don’t Overfill the Cupcake Tins

Be sure not to overfill your cupcake or cake tins. If you overfill, there will be too much batter and not enough space in the tin for the batter to rise. If the batter spills over the sides, you'll be left with flat cupcakes, and no one wants that!

Whip the Buttercream until Light and Fluffy

Whip it good! When you purchase your tub of buttercream, let it come to room temperature and whip it until it is light and fluffy by using a stand mixer, handheld mixer, or wooden spoon. This will make the buttercream easier to work with when it comes time to ice your cupcakes or cake.

How to Add Colour to the White Vanilla Buttercream

Have a specific colour in mind for your icing? Make it yourself by adding food colouring to our Crave white vanilla buttercream! After mixing the buttercream until light and fluffy (3 minutes), add the food colouring and continue mixing for another 2 minutes. Let your creativity flow and we cannot wait to see what you come up with.

How to Store Leftover Buttercream

Have some buttercream leftover from your decorating? Store the buttercream in its original container in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
